Why Did Adventure Time Have A Minecraft Episode?

Before the series finale of Adventure Time aired, there was an episode that took place ENTIRELY in Minecraft - Diamonds and Lemons! While this is completely real, why'd it even happen in the first place? Is it worth checking out?
