About this video: Learning how to make a Minecraft server in 1.21 will unlock all kinds of amazing things.

Primarily, it will allow you to play Minecraft with your friends in 1.21 experiencing trial chambers, the crafter, and all of Minecraft 1.21’s new features together.

This guide is our comprehensive guide on how to create a Minecraft server in 1.21.

That includes where to download the Minecraft server files, how to start a Minecraft server in 1.21 with those files, and how to play Minecraft 1.21 with your friends after your server is setup allowing them connect and join.

To get started, we will need to download the Minecraft server files.

There is a link in the description above that will take you to our website.

This is a complete text guide on how to make a Minecraft server.

Once you are there, click the “Download Minecraft” button.

This will take you to Minecraft’s official website where you are download the Minecraft server.jar.

On this page, click the “minecraft_server_1.20.6.jar” link, and the Minecraft server.jar file will begin downloading.

You may need to keep or save the file depending on your browser.

After you have the server.jar downloaded, create a new “Minecraft 1.20.6 Server” folder on your desktop, and move the server.jar to it.

At this point, you should be able to double-click the server.jar and generate different files and folders.

However, if double-clicking doesn’t work, you will need to get Java 21.

Java 21 is required for Minecraft 1.21 server, and there is a link in the description to get it.

We also recommend running the Jarfix after getting Java 21 to make sure double-click the Minecraft server.jar works.

Once you have the files generate, one will be the eula.txt file.

Open this file, and change “eula=false” to “eula=true” and save it.

Now, when you double-click the server.jar, your server will start.

At this point, you can join your server.

For you to join the server, you can just use “localhost” as your IP.

However, your friends won’t be able to join at this point.

In order to play Minecraft 1.21 with your friends on your server, you will need to port forward.

This allows them to connect to your server on your computer.

We cover port forwarding in-depth in the video, but specifically, you will need to forward port 25565 on the TCP and UDP protocols.

Once this is done, your friends will be able to join your server using the public IP address!
There are also helpful guides in the description above on adding RAM to your server, fixing issues, and even letting Java through Windows Defender, which could be stopping your friends from joining your 1.21 Minecraft server after you have port forwarded.

At this point though, you now know how to make a Minecraft server in 1.21.
